Duties of Parents

Edited and updated into modern English

J C Ryle

Quantity

It's over 100 years since JC Ryle wrote Duties for Parents, but even today his exhortations help challenge parents to point their children to Christ. This version, in modern English, is designed to help a new generation of parents understand the importance of a loving, caring, and godly home, not without discipline but where children come to know and understand God for themselves.

This timeless Bible teaching from Ryle has been described by many as one of the best resources for parents, outside of the Bible.

Brilliant

This is a no nonsense, succinct, biblical and relevant book on parenting. With this modern English version you have in your hand a brilliant user-friendly guide to parenting that doesn't tell you specifics but broad guidelines that will be a wonderful guide as you parent your children. We have found it massively helpful.

Counter Cultural but Relevant

I suspect J C Ryle would be surprised, if not horrified, by the way modern parenting has sailed purposefully away from the Biblical model that he so fully endorses. This updating of his original thinking does a first-rate job of ensuring the concept of bringing up children with a solid Christian foundation can be kept clearly in focus and still seen as relevant in today’s terms. Well worth investing in and USING! Hard work to do it but valuable.
