    A Practical and Convicting Guide on Contentment

    The Envy of Eve offers a convicting look at coveting, using the story of Eve to highlight the four steps of envy: seeing, desiring, taking, and hiding. Melissa Kruger shows how coveting stems from unbelief and a lack of trust in God’s goodness. The book is practical, providing biblical insight on how to combat envy by focusing on God’s provision and trusting in His character. This is a great resource for Christian women, but its wisdom is applicable to all. Highly recommended for anyone struggling with contentment or looking to understand envy from a biblical perspective.

    Eloquent, perceptive and challenging

    I loved this book. But I also found it uncomfortable to read because Krueger really exposed my sinful heart to me, and it was hard to hear the truth. Hard but good for me, and for anyone who decides to pick up 'The Envy of Eve'. Brilliantly, Krueger shows us how our desires have gone off course, but then insightfully gives us the gospel in various applicable and real ways to help realign those 'envies'. I'd highly recommend this book for everyone - even if you've never thought you have a problem with envy. I particularly enjoyed reading it with a friend and discussing how to apply it into our lives.

    Melissa Kruger as ever helpfully disects the deceitfulness of our hearts when it comes to covetous desires, and the roots of discontent that exist deeply within our hearts, and are fuelled by our culture in so many ways. Profoundly helpful to read, with really helpful patterns to recognise and help us in our dependence on the Lord when it comes to this topic. Especially suited to chatting it through with a friend or a group.
