In Authentic Spirituality, Josh Moody describes the world in which we live and then leads the reader to a rediscovery of real biblical faith. A previous version of this manuscript was published over twenty years ago in the UK. This version is updated with a whole new section that brings into light the importance of community and church to live out this authentic spirituality in practical daily life.

“The topic of authentic spirituality was a core part of my research at Cambridge University and a central feature of my ongoing ministry,” says Josh Moody, Author of Authentic Spirituality . “I want to show how the biblical gospel is authentic, and prayerfully see the trends away from faith in the Western world reversed so that there is an increasing number of the next generation (re)discovering Christian faith as the authentic spirituality."

“Recent research shows a continuing decline in practicing Christians in America. In 2020, only 1 in 4 Americans qualified as practicing Christians, with one-third fewer attending church weekly than in 1993,” says Moody. “The most recent effort to reverse these declines is focused on straightforward apologetics. But what is needed in addition is a re-articulation of the Christian faith as something genuine or authentic. This book is presenting biblical Christianity as ‘authentic Spirituality.”
