concise but so illuminating

I bought this from Logos ship many years ago and was using it only this morning to review Colossians again. My copy describes the Handbook as "clearly and concisely giving an excellent overview and understanding of every book in Bible". In his foreward Billy Graham says this book "will help make the reading and study of God's Word interesting, challenging and useful" and "her enthusiasm for the Lord Jesus Christ was contagious". It shows in her writing.

Outstanding!

There are a number of trusted books I tend to turn to when studying the Bible, and this is about to be added to the list! It’s not as in depth as a whole Bible commentary, yet is far more substantial than a Bible overview. There are clear guides through each book of the Bible, giving context, structure and a gentle walk through the book, with the odd ‘recap’ chapter dotted throughout for good measure. There are also reading plans to help you get a bird’s eye view of the Bible as a whole, walking through a large section of Scripture day–by–day. I’m excited about using this and recommending it to others, whether for teaching preparation or personal study.

One of the greatest Christian books

This has to be one of the greatest Christian books published in the 20th Century. It combines accessibility with theological depth as every book of the Bible is introduced, outlined and analysed. I have had 3 editions, two have worn out and the current one is often referred to. I commend this to be read by non–Christians, young Christians and those who have been walking with the Lord for many years. I promise you it’ll ‘bless your socks off’!
