The most widely used resource of the last 25 years in its area, Systematic Theology by Wayne Grudem has been thoroughly revised and expanded (all 57 chapters) for the first time while retaining the features that have made it the standard in its field: clear explanations, an emphasis on each doctrine's scriptural basis, and practical applications to daily life.

It's fine, but mainly a collection of the relevant texts

Wayne Grudem’s Systematic Theology, Second Edition is a comprehensive update to his widely influential work, adding significant new content and addressing recent theological debates. Divided into seven parts, it covers doctrines from Scripture’s authority to eschatology with clarity and accessibility for lay readers. Grudem engages contemporary controversies such as the Trinity, justification, and creation, sometimes sparking debate, especially around his stance on eternal functional submission and justification. The book is notable for practical features like chapter summaries, study questions, and hymn suggestions. Despite some gaps, like limited engagement with Michael Heiser’s work, Grudem’s volume remains a go-to resource for those seeking a thorough, readable evangelical systematic theology.
