Many board books are designed solely to entertain. Although some have an educational component, the focus is often on the alphabet, colors, or numbers. The Topsy Turvy King teaches a lesson with eternal value. In this engaging board book, Alison Brewis shows young readers how Jesus modeled a life of service. Despite its weighty message, the book is clearly designed with young readers in mind. Hannah Green's vibrant illustrations and the fun rhyming text will hold children's attention, making it an enjoyable read-aloud for families. The sturdy board book format makes it suitable for little hands from birth, though I think the story will be most meaningful for children ages 3 and up. Parents looking for board books that go beyond basic concepts and introduce children to foundational biblical truths will appreciate The Topsy Turvy King. Fun and Full of Truth

This rhyming board book was such a pleasant surprise. It is always wonderful to read a board book that adults enjoy, too. While cute and rhyming, it reminds readers that Jesus wasn't what people envisioned, but that's okay, because who he is and what he did is way better! (Perfect book for an Easter basket).
