The Corinthian church has a bad reputation. They've gone down in history as the church with all the issues - disunity, theological confusion and blatant sin are just the beginning. The feeling that we might need to brace ourselves for an onslaught of stern rebukes and much-needed correction can make us reluctant to turn to 1 Corinthians.

While Paul certainly does tackle the problems the Corinthian church faces, he does so with grace, love, and with a desire to see these new believers flourish in their Christian faith. In these devotional notes, Robin and Zoe Ham point us to Paul's focus on our identity in Christ and the reality of his return. We'll see that this letter is more than just a reprimand, it is rich in gospel truth and has plenty to teach us about how to live in the light of Jesus' resurrection today.

These bite-sized devotional readings are the perfect length for dipping into each day. They are undated and guilt-free with daily reflections that will keep you chewing on God's Word long after you've put the book down.

Great devotional but seems to have a gap

On day 8 (see the YouVersion Bible plan), instead of moving to 1 Cor 3:10-end of chapter, verses 1-9 are repeated from the previous plan, with only verse 10 added. This seems accidental because the devotional writing goes much deeper into the chapter. Then day 9 just moves onto Chapter 4:1. As I said in my title, I think this is a nice reading plan - great reflection questions. But this gap is problematic, and it makes me look carefully at the accuracy of the rest. I guess we always should though. #BeABerean
