While singleness is often widely misunderstood by many in the church today and often viewed in negative terms, the Bible speaks about it very differently. This book sets forth a positive vision of singleness by responding to 7 common misconceptions, such as the notion that singleness is too hard, requires a special spiritual gift, is a hindrance to ministry, or is a waste of sexuality.

Addressed to the church as a whole and written by a single pastor, 7 Myths about Singleness will help readers better understand, support, and empower the singles around them to contribute to the flourishing of the church as a whole.

A Thought-Provoking Read for Everyone, Not Just Singles

This is a book I spent a while debating whether I, as a married woman, should read. Ultimately, I decided to go against my initial reservations, and I’m so glad I did. It took me some time to get through because there’s so much to think about, reflect on, and reconsider. In my opinion, this is a book everyone should read, not just singles, whether young or old. It encourages you to look at various Bible passages in new ways. Married people, in particular, may find themselves rethinking how they approach certain aspects of life and relationships. Singles may find a kindred voice in the author, but they may also be challenged to reflect on their own lives and consider areas for change. If you're someone who tends to dissect each passage and ask, "Is this verse out of context?" this may not be the book for you, as it’s more about the big picture than detailed exegesis. However, if you approach the book with an open mind and a willingness to learn, you'll likely find yourself challenged and perhaps gain new insights. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a thought-provoking read.
