Excellent Study Bible, but Small Print

I used this Bible a lot when I was studying more deeply for classes, and it’s an excellent resource. It contains a huge amount of helpful material—study notes, maps, charts, and explanations—and manages to include all of this in a more portable format than the full-size ESV Study Bible. It’s still fairly substantial (around 2 kg), but manageable enough to carry around regularly for church, study groups, or classes. The main drawback for me now is the font size. Because this is the personal-size edition, the Bible text is 9 pt, and the study notes are even smaller. This makes it difficult to read for long periods. If you have good eyesight, you’ll probably be fine, but my husband and I (both in our late 40s) now find it too small—especially with dry eyes or when doing extended study. That said, the content itself is outstanding, and it’s hard to beat in terms of depth and usefulness. Overall, it’s a fantastic study Bible for portability and serious study, but I would recommend considering a larger print edition if readability is important to you.
