‘From Cambridge to the world’
Intervarsity/USA, Inter-Varsity Canada, and the American and Canadian Bible Societies trace their roots back to Charles Simeon. More than 150 years later, John Stott would say that Simeon taught him to preach.
Simeon, like Stott, was a colossus. This book traces Simeon’s legacy down to the present day, mainly through John Stott and Dick Lucas, Lausanne, IFES and the Proclamation Trust / Simeon Trust (US). It is a unique work, with illustrations, maps and timeline. John Stott spoke and wrote often of his indebtedness to Charles Simeon. He had one of Simeon’s silhouettes on the wall, and took it with him when he moved into St Barnabas, the care home for Anglican clergy.
An important book to bring Charles Simeon’s legacy up-to-date.
